September 11, 2001:
A day that will never be forgotten!
I reflect on a day where thousands of innocent people perished: at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and in a field at Shanksville, PA.
On that morning, I was presenting an offer to a client on their home in Landen. They had their TV on in the background. While we were reviewing the offer, the news came over about the first plane crashing into one of the towers. We just sat there stunned. That day had a special significance to my clients, because he is a seasoned pilot for one of the major air freight cargo companies.
As time continues to move forward and it's now been 7 years since the attacks, we the people don't always keep 9/11 in the top of our minds for 364 days of each year, but today is the day that we need to take time to remember those who gave their lives in innocence, the firefighters and police who served knowing they were in harm's way and those of our sons, daugthers, mothers and fathers who are serving in the military and continue to protect us from those wishing to do our country harm.
Please take a 'moment of silence' today or raise the American Flag at your home to remember.
Even though we have our faults, we do still live in the greatest country in the world.
Do you remember where you were on the morning of September 11, 2001?
